Bond Display Cabinets says that enclosure manufacturer Spelsberg's machining and assembly service has successfully released bottlenecks in its control box wiring production area.

Spelsberg enclosure machining cools Bonds display problemsThe Telford-based company, which manufactures refrigerated display cabinets for the UK market, has seen significant growth, and managing director Harish Chander explains that machining and assembling enclosures meant it couldn't keep up.

"We needed a company that could not only provide the required enclosures, but also offer the flexibility to take in any design modifications quickly and cost-effectively as changes to the specification arose – and which could also supply the enclosures in small batches," he says.

Spelsberg offered to CNC machine enclosures, fit them with the required DIN rail, terminals, switches, control unit, MCBs etc, and complete all wiring, using its TK range.

"We had some samples made, and did some price comparisons, and the Spelsberg units compared extremely favourably," states Chander.

He also cites the benefit of TK enclosures being sealed to IP66 as standard, so guaranteeing protection from ingress of dust and water, while offering protection against severe temperatures.

"Supermarkets and other retail outlets are not particularly challenging environments," comments Chander. "But we are often delivering the display units in the rain and in less than pleasant conditions, and the IP66 protection just provides the extra assurance that everything within the enclosure is safe."
