Bristol City Council is reporting successful installation of a Sirius WH modular, condensing, packaged boiler, from Potterton Commercial, in its Bush Residential Resource Centre, a residential short breaks centre for children with learning difficulties.

Residential centre gets rapid boiler replacement from PotteronThe Sirius plant was selected because of its optimised heat transfer capabilities and exceptional energy efficiency, claimed to reach up to 107%, keeping both energy costs and carbon footprint to a minimum.

Ultra low NOx and low noise levels in operation were additional factors.

Bristol's principal mechanical and electrical engineer describes the unit as: "A neat package with a corner configuration which kept the footprint of the plant room to a reasonable size and cost." And he adds: "Potterton's technical back-up and after-sales service was excellent."

With an output of 220kW, the package includes two Sirius WH 110kW condensing boilers, frame mounted along with pumps, pressurisation units and controls. The equipment was supplied via BSS in Bristol and installed by JRC Mechanical Services of Ilminster. It was ready for connection to mains services, in less than one day.

Potterton Commercial describes the package is ideal for the fast on site replacement of old or inefficient heating systems and, with design assistance available free, suggests that its packaged solution simplifies installation for the contractor.
