ABB white paper gets to grips with control theory

ABB has published a new white paper, aimed at explaining how automatic industrial PID (proportional, integral, derivative) controllers can be used to optimise virtually any process.

ABB white paper gets to grips with control theoryThe paper builds on recent advances in control and monitoring technologies, and covers the use of complex algorithms capable not only of reacting to changes in process conditions, but also, increasingly, predicting and pre-empting them.

ABB's experts also provide detail on common control terms, such as loop tuning, auto-tuning, gain scheduling and adaptive control, using a mix of text, graphics and diagrams for explanation.

Finally, the white paper specifies main features of ABB's ControlMaster range, describing how its four versions can be used in a variety of industrial control applications.

ABB's white paper is aimed at anyone using control as a method in the production, distribution, or treatment of industrial processes.
