SKF's Microlog Inspector is being hailed as a next generation data collector, designed to speed up analysis of plant operations, predictive and preventative maintenance, condition monitoring and plant safety.

Next generation data collector is Windows compatibleThe company explains that its new inspection system is equally at home in work scheduling, and environmental, occupational health and safety, and other regulatory and safety roles.

It can collect data relating to velocity, acceleration, temperature and FFT via a wireless sensor, and SKF makes the point that, with routine vibration data immediately available, out of bounds machine data can be acted on during plant technicians' rounds.

The system is compatible with most Windows Mobile portable devices, so you can use existing hand-held devices.

Also, the system software links to the SKF @ptitude Inspector software package, where data can be further analysed, reported and shared plant-wide.
