Wind energy generators to be spin off from WEG JV

Industrial motors giant WEG has signed a partnership and technology transfer deal with M Torres Olvega Industrial of Spain, which will up the stakes in wind energy generators.

Wind energy generators to be spin off from WEG JVThe pair will now create a joint venture, with equal participation, for manufacturing, assembling, installing and marketing wind turbine generators, as well as associated operations and maintenance services.

WEG says it expects to start working in the burgeoning Brazilian market, participating in the wind power generation business by supplying wind turbine generators with proven technology and high local content.
