The IPlantE will take a leading role in next year's new Plant & Asset Management 2012 exhibition, with IPlantE professional sector chair David Bates providing content for the technical seminar programme.
 IPlantE will also host a stand at the show, providing an opportunity for networking at the event, and for non members to learn about how IPlantE membership can benefit their professional engineering careers.
Plant & Asset Management 2012 is a new show dedicated event to the plant maintenance sector, and concerned with all aspects of the management and service of physical assets.
The exhibition will co-located with a series of engineering events at the NEC, Birmingham between 17 and 19 April 2012, including, MACH, Drives and Controls, Air-Tech and The International Fluid Power Exhibition (IFPEX).
Bringing these events together under one roof provides an integrated exhibition for engineers and engineering managers, and organiser DFA expects some 40,000 visitors.
IPlantE president Garry Gilby, a plant engineer for over 30 years, sees the event as in line with his mission of championing engineering in the community.
"I want to ensure all our work contributes to the community, and that we are able to demonstrate and promote the work of members both nationally and internationally," states Gilby.
"Plant & Asset Management 2012 is a great forum for our industry to get together, to learn and to grow. IPlantE intends to be a focal point for engineering professionals, both members and non-members – to talk, relax and network in a professional yet friendly environment," he adds.
"Visitors are welcome to pick up a complimentary copy of Plant Engineer magazine, or to talk to any of our staff about their career, membership benefits, professional registration with the Engineering Council and more.
"The work of engineers in the plant sector has been undervalued for far too long, and the IPlantE is working to recognise and reward those who have contributed so much to the industry and the wider community.
"We are working with organisations to promote the sector to a new generation of engineers, as well as welcome existing engineering professionals into membership where we can actively support the development of their career."
