Neil Ritchie is to head up ABB's low voltage ac drives sales in the UK, replacing Steve Ruddell, who, after 10 years in the role, has been appointed head of global marketing for ABB's motors and generators.

ABB appoints new manager for UK drivesRitchie has spent the last decade managing ABB's service side for drives and motors, and will now be based in Daresbury, reporting to Chris Withey, who took over Steve Ruddell's other role as ABB division manager for discrete automation and motion.

Ritchie has worked for ABB for the last 22 years, starting in automation service, technical support.

"We have new low voltage drives, based on a common architecture, as well as a push into micro-drive applications," comments Ritchie.

"We also have an extensive motion control portfolio, which helps us secure markets and offer a comprehensive and complete portfolio," he adds. "And underpinning this will be a concerted effort to build on our lifecycle services, while ensuring we improve our customer responsiveness."
