Clean technology and engineering group Ener-G has opened its research and development centre in Salford and celebrated the first production run of its new E-Magine building energy management system.
 "We are investing more than £1 million per year in research and development to ensure that Ener-G continues to be a global leader in clean technology, producing innovative world class products that reduce cost and carbon," comments Ener-G group chairman Tim Scott.
Scott explains that Ener-G has been working on its E-Magine system for two years, clocking up 32,000 man hours. He says that trials of the system at the company's own headquarters suggest that it can cut energy consumption by a quarter.
The new R&D centre is now home to the company's hardware development team, which worked in partnership with Ener-G'S software design engineers, based in Sussex, to develop the new building controls technology.
