Mattei launches leakage management microsite

Rotary vane compressor manufacturer Mattei has launched an air leakage management microsite to help compressed air users reduce energy wastage.

Mattei launches leakage management micrositeThe website (www.leakagemanagement.co.uk) provides details of the company's services, which include leak detection surveys and audits, and instigating repair and management programmes.

John Taylor, Mattei's business development manager, reminds plant engineers that, on average, compressed air systems lose 30% of the air they produce through leaks in the system. So almost a third of the energy used by compressors is wasted – or three years' energy spend is lost over a 10-year period.

"Our leakage management services can typically provide an 800% return on investment, and customers will generally see a payback within three to six months," says Taylor.

"In some cases, we have seen leakage levels as high as 67% and it is staggering to think how much energy and money was being wasted," he adds.

And he goes on to make the point that, in addition to the financial savings, the performance of attached tools and machinery may also be improved, while carbon emission levels are reduced and equipment maintenance as well.
