Control Techniques' Commander SK ac variable speed drive range now gets a conformal coating as standard, to improve its environmental protection.
When the drive is installed in an IP54 or higher rated enclosure, it will be better able to withstand moisture, dust and chemical ingress as well as temperature extremes.
Coatings start with the smaller sizes (to 7.5kW) in September, extending across the whole range (up to 132kW) by October this year.
As for the rest, it's the same compact footprint drive, with all parameters needed for 90% of applications printed on the front, to ease installation and commissioning.
It also has an onboard PLC, EMC filters and integrated fieldbus options – minimising external I/O to interface with the drive.
