Following reorganisation of its parts and service division, heat transfer specialist Alfa Laval is offering next day delivery for 97% of its plate heat exchanger (PHE) gasket range.
 Julie Knight, parts and service divisional manager at Alfa Lava, explains that the firm has upgraded its inventory replenishment systems at its 6,000m2 Camberley site, which can re-gasket and recondition 54,000 large PHE plates every year.
"Speed is vitally important to our customers, because a leaking PHE can mean product losses running into the thousands," she says.
"That is why we have worked hard to make sure our gasket delivery service matches our products, in terms of quality," she adds.
"As an OEM, we identify every PHE and gasket by its serial number, and can confirm at once whether or not it is in stock. Any item that has been picked more than three times in the preceding 12 months automatically becomes available for delivery from stock. Consequently, 97% of our gaskets are now available for next-day delivery."
