The use of vibration equipment for monitoring industrial machinery is on the rise, according to Hansford Sensors, which reports increased sales of its systems.
 The firm's vibration modules act as interfaces between the accelerometers and a control system, and are being used as part of predictive plant maintenance.
Hansford reports that they are increasingly popular for monitoring the condition of industrial machinery, providing RMS velocity, enveloped or peak g and buffered acceleration.
Uptake is greatest in the steel, quarrying, food and pharmaceuticals industries, says a spokesperson.
