Round-the-clock service for geared motors and couplings has been introduced by Siemens Mechanical Drives.
 Following a factoryrelocation to Leeds, the firm is now offering 24-hour service facilities for Flender Motox geared motors from size 38 to 148, along with Flender couplings.
Siemens service manager Gary Husband says the new service has already been welcomed by key customers, particularly in the food and beverage industries, where a production line breakdown can mean expensive losses.
"Being able to supply our Motox units to Siemens customers and partners, in a range of sizes, means we can provide a much improved out-of-hours service," comments Husband.
"We can build units to precise customer requirements through the night and at weekends if required for emergency requests," he adds.
Geared motors can be inline, right-angled or shaft-mounted with torques of up to 10,000Nm.
