Step change in electric forklift technology
June 2011 Email to a friend   Comment on this article
One of the most significant developments in forklift truck technology for years has been unveiled by Jungheinrich.

Step change in electric forklift technologyFollowing trials its lithium ion battery-powered electric pallet truck, EJE 112i, is now in production and available to order.

The firm makes the point that Li-ion technology offers significant environmental and productivity benefits over lead acid.

For example, the battery pack weighs just 14kg, so no lifting gear is required.

Equally, charging is quick and simple, taking only 30 minutes to deliver a 50% charge (80 minutes, fully charged), enabling more flexible truck utilisation.
