Severn Glocon, which has received the Queen's Award for Enterprise, has now been awarded a fast track contract to supply 48 control valves to Petrofac E&C Sdn Bhd in Malaysia, for the Berantai project.
Petrofac leads the development of the Berantai field project for Petronas, which comprises offshore in-field infrastructure, currently consisting of a wellhead platform and adjacent FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) linked by subsea flowlines with gas export via a new subsea pipeline to a third party platform.
The contract will be managed by Severn Glocon India, in Chennai, for valves ranging from 1 inch 300# to 14 inch 2,500# in size. The valves will be designed and manufactured across both the Chennai and Gloucester facilities, along with some outsourced butterfly and gate valves.
