Dual fuel waste to energy plant
March 2011 Email to a friend   Comment on this article
A dual fuel waste to energy system is new from Shentongroup – acting as a power source but also providing hot water, via an optional heat exchanger, and exporting excess electricity to the National Grid.

Dual fuel waste to energy plantDubbed Duplo, it runs on standard diesel, biodiesel, natural gas, biogas or a combination fuel source resilience for continuous operation but also reducing running costs, compared to single-fuel generators.

Shentongroup also says that Duplo reduces engine wear and produces far lower emissions than a normal diesel-only system, while also coping well with variations in gas quality and pressure.

It also makes the point that an option to provide hot water, via the Hexpac heat exchanger at the same time as generating electricity, turns Duplo into a combined heat and power system.

Sizes range from 50kwe up to 2Mwe. The smaller systems are modular and integrated, assembled into ISO containers.
