Bostik is making savings of 32% on compressed air energy, thanks to the installation of a Boge SLF 125 frequency-controlled screw compressor.

Bostik cements energy savings with frequency controlled compressorMike Brier, engineering manager at the adhesive manufacturer's Thirsk cement making plant, says he invited several compressor houses to assess the energy efficiency of its existing air system, as part of Bostik's drive to optimise energy usage.

Brier explains that the Boge SLF combines a direct-coupled drive system, with frequency control to manage pressure under variable output requirements – making it a low carbon technology that responds efficiently to demand.

"We are really pleased with the new compressor, which has not only reduced our compressed air energy costs by 32% but has contributed to overall site energy savings of 8% per annum," says Brier.

"Additionally, it is providing us with a continuous and reliable supply of compressed air."
