Pressure transmitters get smart yet simple
August 2010 Email to a friend   Comment on this article
Commissioning and maintenance have evidently been simplified on ABB's 2600T pressure transmitter family.

Pressure transmitters get smart yet simpleFirst, there's ABB's universal HMI (human machine interface), which, says the firm, means that configuration for any application now takes just seconds.

Secondly, these transmitters can quickly be repaired or upgraded in the field, simply by changing the electronics module, rather than the whole unit. It even runs an auto-configuration routine.

And thirdly, there is an optional through-the-glass indicator – meaning you can make adjustments without removing the cover.

For SIL2 and pressures up to 600bar, the 2600T now includes a standard model compliant with IEC61508 and certified to IEC Ex ia, IEC Ex d and IEC Ex nL, plus all major certification standards, including GOST, FM and CSA.

The range also includes high performance, low thickness diaphragms at sub-0.,06mm, offering accurate measurement at low pressures and reducing temperature errors in requiring longer capillary lengths.
