Earth continuity sports multiple settings
August 2010 Email to a friend   Comment on this article
For electrical safety monitoring, FDB Electrical has introduced a compact earth continuity device with a wide range of impedance settings said to take it beyond BS4444.

Earth continuity sports multiple settingsDubbed Emguard, the ultra-low power in the pilot earth/loop (0.06W) means it can be incorporated into intrinsically safe systems.

It also exhibits good immunity to ac-induced voltages in the earth conductor, making it possible to monitor long cable runs (greater than 1km) without nuisance tripping.

Specifications include 110V, 240V or 440V 30-120Hz, with impedance adjustable from 1 to 20ohm.
