ATEX gas detector is now UL approved
June 2010 Email to a friend   Comment on this article
Crowcon's intrinsically safe TXgard-IS+ gas detector, which is fitted with electrochemical sensors to detect toxic gases and oxygen, is now UL certified.

ATEX gas detector is now UL approvedGases detected include carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, chlorine, ammonia, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide and oxygen.

With ATEX certification and now the UL accreditation, it can now be used anywhere in the world in Zone 0, 1 or 2, or Division 1 or 2 hazardous areas when used with a safety barrier (zener barrier or galvanic isolator).

The detector has configurable display options and fault and inhibit currents. Also, since it displays line voltage, there is no need to access test points inside the unit.

Sensor signals are temperature compensated and the device is compatible with virtually any 4—20mA control system. Txgard IS+ also combines its power and signal in two wires.
