Maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services specialist Brammer is to feature in a TV programme aimed at highlighting the importance of environmental considerations for British business.

Brammer goes on air to help build a greener BritainThe half-hour programme, entitled 'Building a Green Britain', is to be shown on The Business Channel – available on both Sky Digital and BBC/ ITV Freesat networks during May.

Brammer's Jeremy Salisbury says the programme is intended to highlight the impact of the CRC (Carbon Reduction Commitment) energy efficiency scheme, and how industry can reduce its carbon emissions by using more energy efficient technologies.

"Reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions are increasingly important, with many companies now having a regulatory commitment to meet for the first time with the introduction of the CRC," explains Salisbury.

"[But] whether covered by some form of climate change regulation or not, the fact is that there are significant operational cost-savings available to companies through becoming more energy efficient," he adds.

Salisbury explains that much of Brammer's work with plant managers and plant engineers is aimed at "helping them to improve their performance by reducing their energy costs and carbon emissions, through the selection and optimal maintenance of energy-efficient equipment, such as high-efficiency motors and variable speed drives".

And he continues: "This programme will be a great opportunity to showcase the benefits to UK industry of working with a partner like Brammer which, as well as meeting all their requirements for maintenance spares, can add real value to their operational and financial performance through projects aimed at identifying areas of energy inefficiency and driving out cost wherever possible."
