Washdown bearings
March 2010 Email to a friend   Comment on this article
Increased reliability in food and beverage processing automation is the proud claim of Baldor Electric for its Dodge ball bearing, which incorporates better sealing and lubrication. Dubbed Ultra Kleen, they involve a 100% stainless steel bearing insert and feature a patented sealing system and ball retainer that contain lubrication and prevent washout in wet operating environments.

The new sealing system, QuadGuard, consists of a triple lip seal and a rubberised flinger – the industry's first and only patented design, comprising a moulded nitrile rubber component bonded to the flinger surface.
